Former Ohio State Wrestler Ray Mendoza Killed in Iraq – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Marine Corps Major Ray Mendoza, a former Ohio State wrestler, was killed in Iraq Sunday. Mendoza, a native of Blairstown, N.J., lettered for the Buckeyes in 1992 and ’93. A 1993 Big Ten runner-up at heavyweight, Mendoza was on his third tour of duty, OSU wrestling head coach Russ Hellickson said.
Mendoza received a bachelor’s of arts degree with a major in history from Ohio State in the spring of 1995.
