Lyle Yost Named Big Ten Diver of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State men’s diver Lyle Yost has received his first Big Ten Conference honor for his outstanding performance in the Buckeye’s sweep over the Kentucky Wildcats. Yost, a freshman from Shaker Heights, Ohio was awarded the men’s B1G Diver of the Week, conference officials announced Wednesday.
The Buckeye men opened 2020 with a win over Kentucky, 175.5-142.5. Yost tallied a total of 18 points from two, first-place finishes, good for second overall among the Buckeye and Wildcat men. His top finishes on the 1-meter springboard and the 3-meter springboard also gave him the highest point total among the male divers. The freshman scored a 351.90 on the 1-meter springboard and then outscored the Wildcat’s leading diver, Ming Zhang, by over 13 points on the 3-meter board, giving him a total of 386.25.
The Ohio State swim and dive program returns to the pool to face Michigan on January 18.
