THIS WEEKEND AROUND THE BIG TEN . . .
Ohio State at Illinois – The Buckeyes make their first Big Ten road trip of the season. OSU has an overall record of 55-27-4 over Illinois, including a 28-11 record in Champaign. The Buckeyes have won four of the last five, including a 48-0 win on the road in 1996.
Indiana at Michigan State – Michigan State has won the last three meetings, including a 38-6 victory in Bloomington last season. The Spartans lead the all-time series 33-13-2, with a 17-5-1 advantage in East Lansing.
Northwestern at Iowa – Northwestern as been on the winning side of the ledger in the last three meetings. The Wildcats escaped with a 15-14 win in Evanston last year. Iowa hods the series edge in Iowa City, 20-6, and overall, 41-11-3. Iowa was on a 21-game win streak before the latest three losses.
Penn State at Minnesota– Penn State leads the all-time series 3-0 since the Nittany Lions joined the Big Ten. The Golden Gophers gave PSU a scare last year, losing 16-15 in State College. Penn State won the only previous game in Minneapolis, 56-3 in 1994.
Purdue at Wisconsin – The Boilermakers own a 34-27-8 record over the Badgers. Wisconsin is 20-10-5 in games played in Madison. Purdue has a win in 1996 (33-25) and a tie in 1994 (27-27) in the last two trips to Wisconsin.

THIS WEEK’S PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Defense – Wisconsin senior DE Tom Burke helped the Badgers remain unbeaten by recording seven solo tackles and five assists. He posted for tackles for losses totalling 25 yards, including three sacks for -21 yards. Two of his sacks came during a 17-play Indiana drive in the fourth quarter when the Hoosiers were trying to regain the lead.
Offense – Purdue sophomore Drew Brees put himself in the storied Boilermaker QB record books by passing for a school-record 522 yards (third best in Big Ten history) and a school-record six touchdowns in Purdue’s lopsided win over Minnesota. Brees completed 31-of-36 passes (.861).
Special Teams – Sophomore Derin Graham, of Indiana, returned four kickoffs 142 yards against Wisconsin, including a second-half-opening 100-yard touchdown return which gave the Hoosiers a 13-3 lead. It was the first IU kickoff return touchdown since 1981.
