COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State junior Ava Bramblett has been named a Defender to Watch by the United Soccer Coaches on the NCAA Division I Women's Players to Watch lists for the 2025 season.
Bramblett has appeared in 41 matches, making 39 starts, over her first two seasons as a Buckeye. She scored three goals in each season and added her first career assist last year. The Noblesville, Ind., native began her career in the midfield and then slid back to an outside backer last season. On top of her on-ball defending, Bramblett's athleticism enables her to get forward and she's dangerous in an attacking position.
The Buckeyes open the preseason slate on Wednesday with an exhibition game at West Virginia and will then host Ohio on Saturday in another exhibition contest. The regular season opens on August 14 against Clemson. First touch from Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
