COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women's golf junior Kary Hollenbaugh completed competition at the Augusta National Women's Amateur on Saturday, finishing tied for 22nd place.
"I've been working towards getting invited to this tournament for so long, and it completely lived up to my expectations," said Hollenbaugh. "It was such a great experience, and I was so lucky to share it with family, friends and a lot of Buckeye fans."
The tournament opened with two rounds at Champions Retreat on Wednesday and Thursday. Hollenbaugh fired a two-under 70 in both rounds and was tied for ninth place after the first 36 holes to make the cut to play at Augusta National on Sunday.
On Saturday, Hollenbaugh shot 76 (+4) to finish tied for 22nd place with an even 54-hole score of 216 at her first career Augusta National Women's Amateur. She had 12 birdies over the course of play.
"Kary Hollenbaugh's appearance at Augusta National continues the proud tradition of Buckeyes competing at the Augusta National Women's Amateur," said Ohio State women's golf head coach Lisa Strom. "Kary carries forward the legacy of Ohio State excellence on one of the game's grandest stages, while inspiring the next generation of Buckeye golfers to believe that they belong there too."
