COLUMBUS, Ohio – Interns participating in the 2024 Ohio State Athletics Bucks Go Pro 1.0 program made presentations to athletics department staff Thursday offering suggestions and enhancements to both new and existing programs and processes.
There were seven presentations with about 40 athletes from the 2024 Bucks Go Pro 1.0 summer internship program.
The Eugene D. Smith Leadership Institute's most tenured program, the Bucks Go Pro 1.0 Internship Program runs eight weeks over the summer and allows student-athletes the opportunity to gain important hands-on professional experience. The program incorporates an educational curriculum focused on areas such as networking, leadership and personal finance.

The attire is formal, so dress nice!

Our group has been tasked with the topic of recruiting within the Ohio State Athletics Department and helping to guide the creative department's approach on revamping the materials used for the recruitment process. We all looked back throughout our recruiting visits, reflected on aspects that we loved and pieces that we thought could use fixing. Our team reached out to other student-athletes at Ohio State and asked them to explain parts of their recruitment journey they liked and for areas of improvement. We hope to help create a high-achieving and more personalized recruitment process for all incoming student athletes at The Ohio State University.

Ohio State is a prestigious university and institution with many venues available for hosting events. However, it currently lacks a single cohesive resource for potential clients to access. To address this, our goal was to create a well-organized, comprehensive platform that simplifies the process and makes Ohio State more accessible to conferences, events and meetings of all sizes. The Campus Visitor's Bureau would increase revenue and traffic into the University and brand Ohio State as a notable event space within Columbus. The group worked diligently to develop a vision of a highly-functional and efficient Visitor's Bureau for a wide range of events.

Our team is pleased to present our project plan aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Teamworks App for all athletics teams at The Ohio State University. As the adoption of Teamworks continues to grow across campus, our objective has been to provide comprehensive insights into the app and its functionalities. Through a survey sent out to all student-athletes at Ohio State, we identified common challenges in the usage of the app. Working closely with the Teamworks Customer Success Manager, we have curated a variety of resources to enhance everyone's proficiency in using the app to its fullest potential, as it allows teams the opportunity to stay organized and competent in their communication channels.
