
Swimming & Diving Mourns Loss of Jud Crawford

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State swimming and diving program mourns the loss of Jud Crawford, who was an integral part of the Buckeye program in the early 1990’s.
Crawford was a member of the Buckeye squad from 1990-93. In 1992, he won Big Ten titles in both the 100 breast and the 200 breast.
Crawford was a two-time All-Big Ten selection (1992-93) and he earned All-America honors in the breaststroke in both 1992 and 1993. He also earned Academic All-Big Ten honors throughout his career.
Crawford won two gold medals in the breaststroke at the World University Games. He was a member of the US Olympic Resident National Team and trained in Colorado Springs at the Olympic Training Center. He represented Team USA internationally before his retirement from swimming at the age of 28.
Following his retirement, he continued to work with the United States Swimming Federation and was a mentor to many student-athletes.
Crawford passed away on April 6, 2023.
