The Career in Sports Forum, which will be held virtually this year, allows selected student-athletes to learn about and explore potential careers in sports, particularly college athletics. The experience helps student-athletes chart their career path while presenting copious opportunities for attendees to learn from current industry leaders. Career in Sports Forum website
Attendees were nominated by their school or conference, with only junior and senior student-athletes who participated in an NCAA-sponsored sport during the current academic year eligible to attend.
Baez, from Milton, Ga., was a senior on the 2021 Buckeye squad. An Academic All-Big Ten selection and Miechelle Willis Student-Athlete Academic Achievement Award winner, she is a sport industry major. She played in 11 games in 2021 and had 10 points, with five goals and five assists. She has played in 40 games over the last four years, with 50 goals and 24 assists for 74 points.
Sansom, a Clovis, Calif. native, is enrolled in Ohio State’s sports management master’s degree program after earning her bachelor’s degree in sport coaching, recreation, and physical education with a minor in human development and family sciences. She played in over 90 games during her Ohio State career and was a member of three teams that played in the NCAA Tournament. Academically, she’s been an OSU Scholar-Athlete, Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.
DeBerry graduated earlier this month with his degree in sport industry. From Woodstock, Md., he played in 33 games over the past four seasons while also being named an OSU Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten selection. During the summer of 2019, DeBerry worked in the Department of Athletics as part of the Bucks Go Pro internship program.
Vincent is entering his fourth year with the Buckeye football program and has played in 16 career games. A sport industry major and OSU Scholar-Athlete, he played in six games for the Big Ten and Sugar Bowl champions last year, totaling nine tackles and two tackles for loss.
