PALO ALTO, Calif. – Several Buckeye distance stars – past and present – competed Sunday evening at the Payton Jordan Invitational, hosted by Stanford University.
Adam Green and Jake Edwards both set PRs in their respective races. Green, who is redshirting the 2011 outdoor campaign, took first place in Section II of the 3000m steeplechase as an unattached competitor in a time of 8:45.40, placing him just short of qualification for the USATF championships and U.S. Olympic Trials. Edwards, a junior, completed Section II of the 5000m in 13:55.53, good for 13th-place and the fourth-fastest time in OSU outdoor history.
Former Buckeye All-American Brian Olinger posted a time of 28:07.52 in the Kim McDonald 10000m run for a 20th-place finish. 2010 graduate and former All-American Jeff See ran with Green in the steeplechase, but was forced to drop out due to a toe injury.
