COLUMBUS, Ohio — Austin Pooley, a rising sophomore on the Ohio State men’s hockey team, has been named an AHCA All-American Scholar by the American Hockey Coaches Association. To earn the honor, players must have achieved a grade-point average of 3.6 or better in each semester and played in at least 40 percent of his team’s games during 2017-18.
Pooley, a finance major from Dublin, Ohio, played in all 41 games as the Buckeyes reached the NCAA Frozen Four, leading all B1G rookies in games played. He had two goals and three assists for five points. Pooley was an Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and took part in a Bucks Go Pro road trip this summer.
The Buckeyes open the 2018-19 season at Arizona State Oct. 12-13 before beginning their home slate Oct. 19-20 vs. UMass. The full schedule is HERE.
