COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team officially begins fall practice Thursday at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. New this fall, the Buckeyes will host two exhibition games before wrapping up the fall season with the annual Scarlet & Gray World Series. Ohio State hosts Indiana State Sept. 29 and Dayton Oct. 12. Admission is free for all fall games. Parking is free for the two exhibitions. Fans will need to use the Pay-N-Display machines for the Scarlet and Gray series.
Head coach Greg Beals begins his ninth season at Ohio State and has guided the team to NCAA Regional appearances in two out of the last three seasons.
“We are excited about the new NCAA rules allowing us to play two games during the fall,” Beals said. “This gives us the opportunity to evaluate our team and its progress against outside competition. Traditionally, there are a lot of intra-squad scrimmages during the fall which can get stale playing against the same guys every day. It will be refreshing to see an opponent in the first base dugout.”
