
Ohio State Welcomes Tulane to Ohio Stadium on Saturday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Fresh off of a 40-28 victory over No. 15 TCU last Saturday night in Arlington, Texas, No. 4 Ohio State returns to Ohio Stadium and welcomes Tulane for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff Saturday afternoon on BTN.
The Buckeyes are off to a 3-0 start thanks in large part to a third quarter surge that saw both the offense and defense make big plays on the way to Saturday’s win over TCU.

QB Dwayne Haskins continued his impressive early-season play, throwing for a career high 344 yards and connecting on two third-quarter TD passes – 63 yards to Parris Campbell and 14 yards to K.J. Hill – while also adding a game-clinching 5-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

The defense was keyed by DT Dre’Mont Jones, who ?nished with six tackles (a career high), two TFLs, a sack and a key 28-yard interception return for a TD that gave Ohio State a 26-21 lead late in the third quarter.

Ohio State’s neutral ?eld win over No. 15 TCU Saturday gave the Buckeyes a 3-0 record this season with all three victories coming against Power 5 schools. Ohio State is the only school in the country with three Power 5 wins to date, although both BYU and Duke have two Power 5 road wins; BYU over Arizona and Wisconsin; Duke over Northwestern and Baylor.
Mike Weber surpassed the 2,000-yard career rushing milestone last Saturday, ?nishing with 18 carries for 64 yards. He has 2,003 yards in his 28-game career. Weber is the 26th Ohio State running back to reach 2,000 career yards.
Scouting Tulane
Under third-year head coach Willie Fritz, Tulane is 1-2 this season and coming off a 31-24 setback last week against UAB. In that game, UAB’s Logan Scott broke a 24-all tie with just 2:19 to play when he caught a 14-yard touchdown pass. Tulane had tied the game in the third quarter and battled back from a 21-7 halftime de?cit.
Four different players have at least 19 rushing attempts thus far for Tulane, led by Corey Dauphine (19 carries, 240 yards, three TD) and Darius Bradwell (39 carries, 218 yards). Quarterback Jonathan Banks also has 33 carries and has scored a touchdown.

The tandem of Darnell Mooney and Terren Encalade have 29 catches thus far for 556 yards and ?ve TD.
The Green Wave roster features one player from the state of Ohio – redshirt freshman defensive end Justin Walton, who is a Cleveland native.
