COLUMBUS, Ohio — Five members of the women’s track and field team were officially named to the All-Big Ten first and second teams on Wednesday.

Named to the first team in recognition of their win in the 4x400m relay were Latoya Sanderson, Ashley Caldwell, Ayrizanna Favours and Shaniqua McGinnis. McGinnis ran a spirited final leg to give Ohio State the title in the final event on the final day of 2009 Big Ten Indoor Championships at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium last weekend. The team finished in a regional qualifying time of 3:38.33. Their best time of the season came two weeks ago at the Jesse Owens Classic in a time of 3:35.98.

Letecia Wright was named to the second team after placing second in the finals of the 100m hurdles with her RQ time of 13.43. Her best time this season was a 13.34 at the Raleigh Relays in late March. Wright was a first-team selection last season after helping the 4x100m relay team to a Big Ten title and a school-record time in the prelims.

Ohio State has the week off before returning to action at the NCAA Regionals in Louisville, Ky., May 29-30.
