COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State women’s track and field team will be playing double duty this weekend as the team will compete in two invites Feb. 13 and 14.

The majority of the team will be in Akron, Ohio at Stile Field House for the Akron Invitational. The meet will feature Ohio’s top Division I squads and several out of state teams, including Pittsburgh and Duquesne, as well as outstanding individuals from many of the state’s top Division II schools. Ohio State’s meet schedule will get underway Saturday at 9:30 a.m. EST. For more information visit

Seven other Buckeyes will be in Fayetteville, Ark. for the Tyson Invitational at the University of Arkansas’s Randal Tyson Track Center. The annual meet is one of the most star-studded track and field events in the U.S. year after year, as the nation’s best professional and collegiate athletes will compete head-to-head. Big Ten rivals No. 4 Michigan, No. 9 Penn State and Indiana will join Ohio State in Fayetteville, alongside national powers in No. 2 Tennessee, No. 3 Oregon, fifth-ranked LSU, No. 7 Texas, and host Arkansas, ranked No. 11. In all, 13 of the nation’s Top 25 women’s teams will be in action over the weekend at the invite. McKinney Makes Strides in NYC
Freshman Kelcey McKinney set a personal record Friday in New York City at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational with a 5.80m mark in the long jump. The Dayton area native followed up that performance with an 11.37 leap in the triple jump Saturday, .05m off her personal record set at the Kentucky Invitational Jan. 17.

Last Time Out
The Buckeyes held their own against a field of more of 100 teams last Friday and Saturday at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York City.
Day One saw Ayrizanna Favours and Ashley Caldwell take second and fifth in the 500m. A blistering time of 1:12.58 for Favours was .53 seconds off of the first place mark set by Seton Hall’s Clarrise Moh. Caldwell narrowly beat out Villanova’s Makalia Griffith for fifth with a run of 1:14.30.
Letecia Wright was solid as usual with a fifth place finish in the 60m hurdles. Her time of 8.28 is the second best in the Big Ten this year.
Emily Thompson and Jordan Jennewine represented OSU well on day two of the competition, securing two top 5 finishes in the mile run (College Division). Thompson, a junior out of Shaker Heights, set her season-high mark of 4:53.11 for a second-place finish, while Jennewine, a sophomore from Dayton, took fourth in 4:56.29, also a season high.
