COLUMBUS, OH The Ohio State women’s track and field team finished ninth Sunday at the 2009 Big Ten Indoor Championships at Indiana University.

The Buckeyes were led by Letecia Wright’s third place finish in the 60m hurdles in 8.31 seconds. Wright  also placed seventh in the 60m dash with a time of 7.62, .02 seconds off of the sixth place time of Minnesota’s Nyoka Giles.

Ashley Caldwell took third in the 600m run for Ohio State with a season best time of 1:31.22, crossing the finish line just behind Minnesota’s Heather Dorniden and Molly Beckwith of Indiana.

Ayrizanna Favours had a solid afternoon for the Buckeyes, taking fourth in the 400m dash in a season best time of 54.82 and sixth in the 200m dash in 24.52.

Shaniqua McGinnis was sixth in the 400m, finishing behind Favours with a personal record run of 55.06.

Ohio State’s outdoor season begins Mar. 27 at the Spring Break Meet in Tempe, Ariz. They host the Big Ten Outdoor championships May 15-17 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
