COLUMBUS, Ohio Paige Maxwell, the talented Ohio State freshman forward from Medina, Ohio, has picked up a national season-long honor by being named this week to the all-rookie second team. Last week she was named to the Big Ten Conference all-freshmen team.

Maxwell lead the 2008 Buckeyes with eight goals and 18 points and she tied for the team lead with 19 shots on goal. Her 39 total shots ranked second on the team.

The former Medina High School and Cleveland Internationals standout also scored game-winning goals this season against Northwestern and Iowa and it was her goal in the Big Ten Tournament that tied the score at 1-all with Purdue. The Buckeyes would go on to lose the Boilermakers, 2-1, and end their season with an 8-10-2 record.

It was in the regular season game against Iowa at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium that Maxwell tied the Ohio State school record with three goals in the 3-2 Ohio State win. Maxwell was named Big Ten offensive player of the week for her efforts and named her to its national team of the week.
