COLUMBUS, Ohio Mike Pucillo, a junior on the sixth-ranked Ohio State wrestling team, was named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. It is the Cuyahoga, Ohio, native’s first weekly award of the season and the second of his career.

A product of Walsh Jesuit High School, Pucillo recorded his second win against a ranked opponent to propel Ohio State over Kent State, 20-15, Sunday. His first laurel came Dec. 4, 2006 after downing fourth-ranked Raymond Jordan of Missouri, 3-1, in semifinals and No. 3 Tyrel Todd of Michigan, 12-6, in Las Vegas Invitational finals.

This is the third Big Ten weekly honor for the Buckeyes this season. Junior Reece Humphrey was named wrestler of the week Nov. 4 and senior Corey Morrison picked up his first career honor Dec. 16.
