Wone Aranaz’s Summer on the Road

COLUMBUS, Ohio – While most freshmen were working out at home or trying to find their way around a campus, Ohio State’s Aixa Wone Aranaz was honing her basketball skills on an international level. She played on a pair of national teams for her home country of Spain leading the Spaniards to a third place finish at the U19 World Championships in Thailand and a fifth place finish at the U20 European Championships in the Czech Republic.

That’s a lot of basketball at a high level and head coach Kevin McGuff is hoping that experience will allow her to skip the freshman learning curve.

Recently, she sat down with Meghan Carroll of The Lantern to talk about her journey to Ohio State and how she grew this summer.
