COLUMBUS, Ohio – In the March issue of Volleyball magazine Ohio State outside hitter Stacey Gordon (Jr., Oshawa, Ontario) has been named a 2003 Asics/Volleyball First Team All-American. She was one of 12 players named to the first team selected by the magazine. Earlier Gordon had been named to the second team American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American.

Gordon was Ohio State’s team leader in kills (708), kills per game (6.62), hitting percentage (.279), aces (44), aces per game (.41), digs (386) and digs per game (3.61). She tied for fourth in total blocks (67) with 13 solos and 54 assists and tied for fourth in blocks per game (.63). Named to the All-Big Ten squad for the third year, she finished the conference season as the Big Ten statistical champion in kills per game at 6.77. Gordon ranked six in digs (3.56), seventh in aces (.32) and 14th in hitting percentage (.283). With an overall 6.62 kills per game average (708 kills, 107 games), Gordon has set the all-time Big Ten record, previously held by Ohio State’s Vanessa Wouters at 6.43 (765 kills, 119 games) in 1996. That season average ranks her third in the nation, behind No. 1 Aline Pereira of George Mason at 6.66 and No. 2 Kim Willoughby of Hawaii at 6.65. Her career kill total of 1,956 has moved to seventh on the Big Ten career kills list.
