COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten women’s volleyball coaches have picked Stacey Gordon (Jr., Oshawa, Ontario) as a unanimous selection to the 2003 Pre-Season All-Big Ten Volleyball Team. She joins Minnesota’s Cassie Busse and Northwestern’s Erika Lange as unanimous selections. Gordon was the Big Ten Player of the Year last season as Ohio State finished fourth (13-7) in conference play. She was the Big Ten leader in kills per game (5.87) and finished seventh in digs (3.18) in conference action. Gordon was a 2002 first-team American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American and was later named the Ohio State Female Athlete of the Year.

The Buckeyes were picked to finish sixth by the Big Ten coaches. Minnesota was the unanimous choice to win the conference. The Gophers won the 2002 league title with a 17-3 record. Penn State, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Indiana round out the top-five teams.

Ohio State will open the 2003 season by hosting Ball State at 7 p.m. on Sept. 3.
