COLUMBUS, Ohio Senior Veronica Jatsek scored her second indoor All-America honor of her career Friday with her fourth-place finish in the weight throw at the 2008 NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
Jatsek earned her fourth-place finish with a toss of 70 feet, 3 inches (21.43-meters). The honor is the third of her career. Jatsek has earned All-American honors in her last three-consecutive seasons (2007 indoor weight throw, 2007 outdoor hammer, 2008 indoor weight throw).
Jatsek earned her trip to the NCAA championships by winning the Big Ten title in the weight throw with a season-best toss of 70 feet, 7 3/4 inches (21.53-meters). The toss was the second-best toss in the country at that time, only behind Brittany Riley of Southern Illinois, who holds the world record in the weight throw.
