%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio-Five members of the Ohio State women’s tennis team will begin the spring season with either a national or regional ranking to their name. Leading the charge is Monica Rincon (Sr., Lapeer, Mich./West). Rincon, who is 17 wins shy of becoming the second player in OSU history to reach the century mark, is ranked No. 56 in the national rankings (Dec. 11) and No. 5 in the Midwest region (Dec. 14). In the fall she posted a 7-5 record.%^$

%^$In doubles, the tandem of Rincon and Erica Fisk (So., Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) is ranked No. 47 in the nation. Regionally, Fisk is the second-highest Buckeye ranked as she is tied with Notre Dame’s Caylan Leslie at No. 8. Fisk posted a team-best 10-4 record in the fall and competed in the singles and doubles final at the Cissie Leary Invitational.%^$

%^$Sadhaf Pervez (Jr., Warren, N.J./Watchung) was 6-3 in the fall season and is ranked No. 13 in the region. Meaghan Colville (So., Toronto, Ontario/Western Michigan) teamed with Rincon to post a 2-0 doubles record in the fall which was good enough to place them at No. 15 in the region in doubles.%^$

%^$The Buckeyes begin their spring season at 10 a.m. when they play host to instate rival Akron. The match will be contested at the Jesse Owens West Recreation Center.
