MADISON, Wis. – The Ohio State women’s tennis team was eliminated from the Big Ten Championships by top seeded Wisconsin, today. The Badgers downed the Buckeyes 4-1, ending Ohio States season.

Ohio State met up with Wisconsin during the regular season on April 12. The Buckeyes came up short in the match, losing 5-2. With Wisconsins two wins over Ohio State this season, the Badgers improve their all time record against the Buckeyes to 25-3.

The Buckeyes were overpowered by the Badgers, who ended the season with the best record in the Big Ten at 9-1. The Badgers won three of four singles matches and abandoned two other matches after the meet had been decided. Wisconsin dominated doubles play also, taking two matches from the Buckeyes and abandoning the third after it had already earned the doubles point.

Senior Carolina Nahuz (Sao Paulo, Brazil) ended her career with the Buckeyes in fine fashion. Nahuz defeated Roz Sweeney of Wisconsin in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, for the Buckeyes only point on the afternoon. Nahuz improved her season record to 14-17 with her outstanding performance during the Big Ten Championships.

The Buckeyes concluded their season with a record of 10-14 overall and 8-2 in the Big Ten.
