COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 45 Ohio State women’s tennis team moved to a perfect 7-0 at home after defeating Miami (Ohio), 6-1, Tuesday afternoon at Jesse Owens West Recreation Center. The Buckeyes improved to 10-6 overall with the victory, while the Redhawks fell to 7-8.

The Buckeyes earned the doubles point after winning two of three matches. Kristy Dascoli (Jr., Bradenton, Fla.) and Monica Rincon (So., Lapeer, Mich.) posted a win for the squad at No. 1, while Sadhaf Pervez (Fr., Warren, N.J.) and Laura Maloney (Jr., Barrington, Ill.) were victorious at No. 2.

Ohio State won five of six singles matches to clinch the win. Dascoli, Rincon, Michelle Matko (So., Aurora, Ill.), Pervez and Maloney each posted singles wins for the Buckeyes.

The Buckeyes continue their six-match homestand this weekend, as they host No. 13 Northwestern Saturday at 11 a.m. before facing No. 51 Illinois the following day at 10 a.m. Both matches are scheduled to be played outdoors at the Stickney Tennis Center.
