COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State women’s soccer team is now 3-1 in spring exhibition contests as it shutout Dayton, 2-0, Friday in Dayton. The Buckeyes now have wins over Dayton, Cincinnati (2-0) and Tennessee (3-0) this spring and a 1-0 loss to North Carolina.

Scoring goals for the Buckeyes was Lara Dickenamnn, who will graduate this spring but is competing with the Buckeyes to stay prepared for upcoming Swiss National Team duties, and Lisa Collison, who will be one of three seniors on the team this fall. Shawn Skladany had two assists.

“We played excellent,” Ohio State coach Lori Walker said. “We were missing two key performers in Ashley Bowyer (she is competing at the U.S. Under-20 National Team camp in Carson, Calif.) and Emily Esbrook (ill) but we did not let that affect our play.”

Both goals were scored in the first half. Dickenmann’s was off the end line with Skladany and Caitlin Colfer assisting. Collison scored with assists to Skladany and Dickenmann.

Ohio State will compete at 4 p.m. Sunday (April 13) against the U17 Canadian National Team in Morgantown, W.Va.

West Virginia comes to Columbus for the Buckeyes’ final home exhibition game: April 20 at 1 p.m. Coach Lori Walker and the team will then conclude spring drills with a 1 p.m. game April 26 against Ohio in Athens.
