COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s ice hockey team lost to No. 6 ranked Northeastern tonight at the OSU Ice Arena. Northeastern jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first three minutes of the game off two quick goals from forward Colleen Coen. Huskie forward Brooke Whitney added a third goal at 5:02 in the first period to put NU up, 3-0. OSU freshman Lindsay Ogren (North Oaks, Minn.) put the Buckeyes on the board at 6:28 in the first period, scoring the first-ever Buckeye goal off an assist from teammate Emily Hudak (Fr., Marblehead, Mass.).

The Huskies added three more goals to make the score, 6-1, heading into the third period. OSU forward Shana Frost (Frankford, Ont.) scored the second Buckeye goal with an unassisted shot at 0:22 in the third period. The Huskies responded with their seventh goal at 1:28 in the final period.

The Buckeyes are back in action on Fri., Oct. 15 (7 p.m.) and Sat., Oct. 16 (4 p.m.) when they host WCHA foe Wisconsin at the OSU Ice Arena.
