COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s gymnastics team (7-5-1; 0-2-1 Big Ten) fell to No. 22 Michigan State and West Virginia Saturday at Jenison Field House in East Lansing, Mich. The Buckeyes posted a score of 194.800, while West Virginia tallied 195.975 points. Michigan State claimed the meet with a score of 196.775.

The Buckeyes finished the meet with scores of 48.875 on vault, 48.450 on bars, 48.300 on beam and 49.175 on floor.

Leading the way for Ohio State was Tiffanie Janke (Sr., Schaumberg, Ill.), who placed second on both vault (9.925) and beam (9.850), while placing third on floor with a 9.900. Brittany Livingston (Fr., Lisle, Ill.) posted a strong meet, tying Janke on floor with a career-high 9.900 and tying Meagan Porter (Sr., Elmhurst, Ill.) for fourth on bars with a 9.850.

Junior Elizabeth Meaney (Ashtabula, Ohio) placed third in the all-around competition with a 39.225. Meaney also placed third on vault, posting a 9.900. Sophomore Kaylin Schlecht (Marion, Ohio) tallied a 37.875 for fourth in the all-around.

Ohio State returns to action at 7 p.m., March 5 in Baton Rouge, La., against the LSU Tigers. The Buckeyes conclude their 2004 regular season Saturday March 13 against Eastern Michigan.
