COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s cross country team took first place at the Notre Dame Cross Country Invitational Saturday afternoon in South Bend, Ind. The Notre Dame Cross Country Invitational marks the second time the team has taken first place in a meet this season. The women won their first race this season at the Queen City Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The 48th annual event was held at the Burke Memorial Golf Course. Teams throughout the Big Ten, Pac-10, Big East and Southeastern Conferences competed in the event.

Chelsea Poling (Fr., Toledo, Ohio/Sienna Southview) and Robyn Detty (So., Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) led the Buckeyes Saturday afternoon to their second straight first place finish. Poling was the top finisher for the Buckeyes, finishing seventh in a time of 18:45. Detty finished ninth in a time of 18:52.

The Ohio State women’s cross country team will return to action along with the men’s team at the All-Ohio Championships Friday, Oct. 11, in Delaware, Ohio.
