COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kristen Gilwee, a senior on the Ohio State women’s lacrosse team, shared her insight on the exciting weekend of lacrosse ahead for the Buckeyes. No. 14 Ohio State, 9-1 on the season, will be put to the test as the squad plays fifth-ranked North Carolina at 7:30 p.m. Friday and second-ranked Maryland at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

Friday is Student Night with free pizza for the first 50 students in attendance and free t-shirts for the first 100 fans through the gates.

On Sunday, Penn State plays North Carolina at 11 a.m. and Ohio State faces Maryland at 1:30.  Matt the Balloon Guy will provide pregame entertainment on Buckeye Kids Club Day; Kids Club members receive a free hot dog when they show their Kids Club ID. It’s also Alumni Reunion Day.

Admission to all games is free; both days, the first 250 fans will receive free rally towels courtesy of Nationwide and one lucky fan each day will win an iPod Shuffle.

Gilwee, who improved to 8-1 on the season with the 15-9 win over Canisius last Sunday, set the Ohio State career record for wins by a goalie; her four-year mark is now 27-21. Gilwee, with 12 saves against Canisius, also has set an OSU career mark for most saves. The Hunt Valley, Md., native now has 453 career saves. Megan Barnett (1999-2001) held both those Buckeye records previously.
