Ohio State’s points leaders talk about the key ingredient to the Buckeyes’ fire power this season – team work.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior Kelly Haggerty and freshman Alayna Markwordt sat down with to talk about Ohio State’s play in 2009 and preview the conference opener vs. Johns Hopkins at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

Find out what Haggerty has to say about taking on a leadership role on the Buckeyes’ offense this season while Markwordt talks about transitioning her game from the high school to college level and the work it takes to be successful.

In four games, Ohio State (3-1) has outscored its opponents, 58-39, including a 33-23 goal scoring advantage in the second half.

Haggerty leads the squad with 13 goals and 11 assists for a team-best 24 points. In only four contests, the native of West Chester, Pa., has collected more than half as many points as she did a season ago, when Haggerty tallied 43 points in 18 games. Markwordt is second on the squad with 22 points and senior Rachel Hawes and sophomore Jayme Beard are third with 11 points each.
