The 2010 winners of the prestigious Big Ten Medal of Honor, given annually to the most outstanding senior student-athletes at each conference school, will be announced Wednesday. Leading up to the 43rd Annual Scholar-Athlete Dinner, the 11 Medal of Honor finalists will be featured on

Wes Wieser
Major: Computer Science and Engineering
Chesterfield, Mo.

Wes Wieser is a two-time Big Ten champion, winning titles in 2007 and 2008 on the 10-meter platform, and he is a five-time NCAA All-American. He competed in his third NCAA championships in 2010 and he earned three All-America honors, finishing fifth on the 10-meter platform, 11th on the 1-meter and 14th on the three-meter. He also had a fine 2010 Big Ten championships meet, taking runner-up honors on both the 10-meter platform and the 3-meter springboard. Wes has represented Ohio State at virtually all of the national meets over his career, including competing at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials in Indianapolis, and his recent national resume includes a sixth-place platform finish at the AT&T National Diving Championships last summer and a fifth-place finish in February at the USA Diving Winter Nationals and World Cup Team Trials. Wes is a three-time OSU Scholar-Athlete who will graduate in June with his degree in computer sciences and engineering. Then he is planning to attend graduate school, either at Ohio State or possibly Georgia Tech.
