Columbus, Ohio – Alex Wilson, an upcoming redshirt junior, and Sean Neighbarger, an incoming freshman, will represent the Ohio State men’s gymnastics team this Saturday (July 15) at the U.S. National Qualifier in Colorado Springs, Colo.; the meet will be hosted at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.
Wilson will be returning to the action for the first time since January and is anticipating getting rid of a little bit of rust. He will best competing on the floor, rings, vault and parallel bars in his return to action. Neighbarger will be donning the Scarlet and Gray for the first time in his career. The upcoming freshman will be competing in five out of six events (floor, vault, pommel horse, parallel bars and high bar).
Two other athletes will be representing the Buckeyes: Will Jeffries and Trevor Howard have already used up their collegiate eligibility but will be representing Ohio State. All athletes that compete at the U.S. National Qualifier will have the opportunity to qualify for the P&G Championships (Aug. 17-20) in Anaheim, Calif., if they perform well enough. The U.S. National Team will be selected via the gymnasts that compete at the P&G Championships in August.
