COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior Katie Williams represented the Ohio State women’s track and field team Saturday at Notre Dame’s Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
The lone Buckeye competing at the “Last Chance” meet, Williams gave a valiant effort against a competitive field, finishing 10th in the mile in 4:47.97, the second-best indoor time in school history and a second off of an NCAA provisional qualifying time. Oklahoma State’s Mihaela Susa finished in first place with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 4:36.38.
Williams has enjoyed an outstanding indoor season for the Buckeyes, posting Top 5 school indoor times in the 1000m, mile and 3000m. A graduate student who previously competed at Michigan, Williams also helped Ohio State’s cross country team qualify for its first NCAA championship appearance in program history last fall.
