COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State field hockey team announced the addition of five members to the 2013 recruiting class Friday. The class includes two forwards, two backs and one midfielder.

“We are really excited to announce the 2013 class,” head coach Anne Wilkinson said. “It has shaped into a proven class of leaders.  All five signees are captains of their current teams and we are looking for this leadership and work ethic to carry over at Ohio State.  With specialist in the backfield and in the forward line, we see this class bringing balance, versatility and depth to the field.  Their strong academic commitment mirrors their dedication to field hockey.  The staff and I are eager for the graduating class of 2018 to get to Columbus and get started.” 

Maggie Reddecliff and Chelsea Quinn both hail from Pennsylvania, while Brooke Hiltz is from Virginia. Twin sisters Mercedes and Paige Hamilton will come to Ohio State from British Columbia.

Team captain along with twin sister, Paige, for Heritage Woods Secondary School during senior year … four-year starter at forward/midfield … carried the Kodiaks to a first-place win and Fraser Valley Championship in 2012 … team MVP for squad that ranked seventh in British Columbia Province … attended U17 junior national field hockey camp in 2011 … attended the Canadian Junior National Tournament four-consecutive years in Calgary and Vancouver … first place finish in pool at U.S. National Hockey Festival in Florida for the Vancouver Polar Bears … also member of the Heritage Wood High School soccer team as a midfielder for four seasons … daughter of Geoff and Denise Hamilton.

B – Paige Hamilton – Port Moody, British Columbia
Heritage Woods Secondary School

Team captain along with twin sister, Mercedes, for Heritage Woods Secondary School during senior year … two-time MVP for the Kodiaks … two-time captain … four-year starter in backfield … named to U17 Canadian National Team and played in U17 test series vs. U.S. in April 2012 … placed first at Canada Nationals in both 2010 and 2011 …. Ranked third overall in British Columbia High School Provincial Field Hockey Tournament … helped Heritage Woods place first in the AAA Fraser Valley against district-rival Gleneagle with 6-1 victory … placed first in district finals in both 2010 and 2011 … also a member of the HWSS soccer team from 2010-2013 … daughter of Geoff and Denise Hamilton.

Easton Area High School

Three-year starter for Easton Area High School … 2012 team captain and MVP for the Red Rovers … 2012 Express Times All-Area and All-Conference First Team selection … helped lead her team to a 2011 division championship, advancing to the district playoff semifinals to be named an Express Times All-Area Second Team honoree … posted six goals and six assists in the Easton backfield in 2011 … helped the Red Rovers place second in the division in 2010 to be named an All-Area honorable mention … gold medaled at the Keystone State Games Indoor Tournament in 2010 … also a three-year started in softball, winning a district championship in 2010 and was named a 2011 Express Times All-Area First Team and All-State honorable mention  … daughter of Jeff and Carol Quinn … grandfather played basketball and baseball at Lafayette College … cousin, Gary, was  a member of the Ohio State men’s golf team (2012 grad).
