COLUMBUS, Ohio – “What I Did Last Summer” is a series that will look back at how student-athletes from the Ohio State field hockey team were able to maximize their summer with internship and job experience despite the challenges that COVID-19 presented.
Today we check in with Emma Goldean, a junior from Charlotte, N.C. who is majoring in biology. Her summer consisted of being certified as a State Tested Nursing Assistant while also gaining valuable hands-on experience before applying to PA school.
“This summer I had the opportunity to get certified as a State Tested Nursing Assistant. This consisted of a two-week course where I learned how to take care of hospital patients and nursing home residents. This certification will help me get patient care experience in order to apply to PA school. Although this is not the summer I had planned for, I enjoyed every second of this class and am very excited to get experience working as an STNA.”
