COLUMBUS, Ohio The No. 14 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team scored a 193.825 in a quad-meet Saturday in St. John Arena. No. 13 Missouri took the title with a team score of 195.375, followed by Illinois (194.575), Michigan State (194.500) and Ohio State.

The Buckeyes (2-4, 0-2 Big Ten) were led by freshman Taylor Jones on two events. Jones scored a 9.725 on vault to lead the squad and tied with freshman teammate, Casey Williamson, to take first for Ohio State on floor with a 9.825. The 9.825 on floor was a career-best score for Williamson and a tied third-place overall finish in the meet.

With two freshmen leading the way on floor, Ohio State posted a season-best 48.900. Senior Alyssa Meyer tied her season high on floor with a 9.775, while sophomore Rebecca Best took third for the squad with a 9.750. Junior Hillary Dow stepped in to add a 9.725 to the total score.

Senior Kiki Holman led Ohio State on beam with a solid season-high 9.800 score to tie for second in the meet. Freshman Nicole Krauter and sophomore Rebecca Best followed Holman for the Buckeyes on beam with a 9.725. Ohio State posted a team total score on beam with a 48.125.

On bars, the Buckeyes were led with a pair of 9.80’s by Best and Meyer. Junior Beth Ann Ballard contributed a 9.750 to boost the squad’s bar score to a 48.675. With a 9.700 on vault, senior Amanda Surine moved Ohio State to a team total event score of 48.125.

The Buckeyes welcome Big Ten competition Iowa to St. John Arena at 7 p.m. next Saturday before they had back to the road for three-consecutive weeks.
