Senior Kiki Holman wins all-around, beam with season highs

COLUMBUS, Ohio Senior Kiki Holman won the all-around competition to lead the No. 12 nationally-ranked Ohio State women’s gymnastics team over Maryland, 194.750-190.525, Saturday night at St. John Arena. The Buckeyes are now 1-1 in dual meet action this season.

“I saw a lot of small improvements from the team tonight,” head coach Carey Fagan said. “There is certainly still room for the team to grow, but I thought we showed a lot of consistency this is the second meet that we have not had to count a fall this season. I hope that we can build on tonight’s victory with continued improvement.”

For the second-consecutive meet, Ohio State was led by a different gymnast in each event as it captured first place in three of the four. The highest score of the night was earned by Alyssa Meyer on the uneven bars with a season-high 9.825. The senior from Chesterfield, Mo., also earned fifth place on floor with a 9.725.

Holman led all scorers on the beam by tallying a season-high 9.775. The Greenfield, Minn., native also finished tied for second on vault (9.725), third on bars (9.775) and fifth on floor (9.700) for her 38.975 all-around total.

Senior Hillary Dow captured first place on floor with a career-high tying 9.800. The co-captain from Yorktown, Va., finished fourth in the all-around competition with a 38.725 after tying Holman for third on the bars and teammate Rebecca Best for third on the beam (9.725).
