Purdue, Oklahoma State, Wake Forest, Michigan State, New Mexico, Ohio State and Chattanooga also advance

COLUMBUS, Ohio Top-seeded UCLA maintained its lead over the 21-team field from start to finish at the NCAA Central Regional, taking the title by 19 strokes on a gusty Saturday in Columbus. Competing on Ohio State’s par 72, 6,246-yard Scarlet Course, the Bruins carded a final round of 303 to win the event at 877 (+13).

UCLA was led by medalist Maria Jose Uribe who carded a final round of 73 to win the event by a score of 4-under 212. One stroke back from her was teammate Stephanie Kono who closed with a 74.

Also in the Top 3 of the field were Purdue at 896 and Wake Forest at 899.

There was a one-hole playoff for the second individual spot. LaCrosse of Louisville made par on No. 1 to get the place over Wikstrom of Arkansas-Little Rock, who made a bogey. Kendall Dye of Oklahoma earned the first spot.

With the Top 8 teams earning a place at the NCAA championships, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, New Mexico, Ohio State and Chattanooga will also compete for the national title, May 19-22 outside of Baltimore, Md.
