Sophomore In Hong Lim leads for Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio After round one of the Bryan National Collegiate, the Ohio State women’s golf team is tied for 17th with tournament host UNC Greensboro Friday in Greensboro, N.C. Competing against nine teams ranked in the Top 30 of the Golfweek rankings, the No. 27 Buckeyes fired an 18-hole team score of 320 on the par 72, 6,386-yard Bryan Park Champions Course.
LSU, who leads by 14 strokes, currently sits atop the leaderboard with a score of 290 (+2). Tessa Teachman, also of LSU, is first in individual standings with a score of 4-under 68.
Leading the Buckeyes was sophomore In Hong Lim. The native of Melbourne, Australia, fired a round of 78 to sit in a tie for 37th.
One stroke back from Lim was freshmen Vicky Villanueva with a 79 to tie for 49th. Fellow freshmen Nara Shin shot an 80 to finish the first round tied for 62nd.
Also competing for the Buckeyes were co-captains Emma Jandel and Gemma Webster. Jandel, who carded a round of 83 is currently tied for 75th, while Webster, who fired a hole-in-one during the practice round, struggled during the first round and is tied for 80th with a score of 84.
The Buckeyes will resume play at the Bryan National Collegiate Saturday with tee times for the second round beginning at 8:20 a.m. Live scoring for the event is available at www.golfstat.com.
