Wetterich Finishes Strong on Day Two of NCAA Stanford Regional

STANFORD, Calif. – Daniel Wetterich, a sophomore from Cincinnati, closed out Round Two at the NCAA Stanford Regional by posting back-to-back birdies on his final two holes. He was even par for the day and sits 1-over through 36 holes, good for a share of 27th place in the 75-player field. In the team standings, Ohio State ranks 10th after a 14-over 294 on Tuesday (May 16).

Wetterich continued his stellar play on Par 5’s in the event, going par-birdie-par to drop his tournament tally to 5-under on the long holes (tied for fourth best in the field). After making the turn at 1-over, he birdied the first two holes and the last two holes of the ‘Front 9’ following a tee time off the 10th tee. With three bogies in between the pair of consecutive birdies, Wetterch ultimately came out at even for the day.

Jeg Coughlin III and Caleb Ramirez each registered 74’s in the second go-around. Ramirez mustered two birdies while Coughlin III utilized four birdies to overcome a couple of double bogeys. Will Grimmer contributed the fourth ‘counting’ score and is tied for 49th place overall on the strength of an even par 70 in the opening round.
