COLUMBUS, Ohio—Ohio State seniors Daniel Wetterich and Will Grimmer were awarded All-Big Ten honors on Tuesday after turning in strong senior campaigns for the Scarlet and Gray.

Wetterich picked up his first career All-Big Ten first team honors, leading the team with a 71.81 stroke average through nine stroke play events. In the regular season finale at Ohio State’s Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, the senior shot a second round 64, one of seven rounds in the 60s for the season, to secure a six-shot victory and the first of his collegiate career. Wetterich finished inside the top-10 five different times this season including a second-place finish at the Musketeer Classic and his victory at the Robert Kepler. This is the second All-Big Ten selection for Daniel, the first coming last year as a second team honoree.

Grimmer earned All-Big Ten second team honors with an impressive senior season, carding six top-10 finishes and his second collegiate victory. He finished five tournaments at par or better, highlighted by his 11-under finish at the Musketeer Classic where he dominated the field, winning by 11 strokes in front of a hometown crowd, and leading the Buckeyes to a team win. In route to a second-best team stroke average of 72.12, Grimmer put up nine rounds in the 60s and a career low 54-hole score of 202 at the Musketeer Classic.

Another senior Buckeyes was honored with an award, as Caleb Ramirez was named the team’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner. Ramirez had a great year himself, collecting two top-10 finishes and setting career low 18 and 54-hole scores of 68 and 208 respectively.
