Where Are They Now: Lee Scott Johnson


Graduation: 1999

Education: BA in Art Education and Master’s in Art Education (2002).

What is she doing now? Teaching art to elementary students in the Westerville City Schools District here in Central Ohio.

Accolades: Part of the 1996 and 1997 National Championship Teams, named to the Academic All Big 10 Team in 1997, 1998, and 1999, qualified for the US National Team Trials in 1998. Recipient of the Corwin A Fergus award in 1999, a post-graduate scholarship awarded to a student-athlete who excels in athletics, academics, and demonstrates positive qualities of character.

Advice to Buckeyes: “Those hard workouts, those early mornings, those incredibly difficult swim throughs over and over again will only make you stronger not only in the pool but in life. Holly taught me that if it doesn’t challenge you then it doesn’t change you.”

Favorite Buckeye Memory: Swimming in Hawaii at the US Open, the long winter training practices at Larkins pool, and Holly’s “Tootsie Roll” eggbeater workout.
