New Haven, Conn. – The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced its Division 1-A National Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for games ending November 18.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Troy Smith, OHIO STATE
Senior, Quarterback, Glenville, OH
Senior quarterback Troy Smith completed 29-of-41 passes for 316 yards and four touchdowns as top-ranked Ohio State defeated second-ranked Michigan, 42-39, to secure its first outright Big Ten title since 1984 and a berth in the BCS Championship Game on January 8. Smith threw scoring passes of 1, 39, 8, and 13 yards as the Buckeyes (12-0, 8-0 in Big Ten) won their third straight against the Wolverines.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JOLONN DUNBAR, BOSTON COLLEGE

Junior linebacker Jolonn Dunbar recorded a game-high 14 tackles (9 solo) and recovered two fumbles – both of which he returned for touchdowns – as 20th-ranked Boston College defeated 21st-ranked Maryland, 38-16. Dunbar scored on 14 and 38-yard fumble returns in the first four minutes of the game – and before BC’s offense had a play from scrimmage – to give the Eagles a 14-0 lead. With the win, the Boston College improved to 9-2, 5-3 in the ACC.
