COLUMBUS, Ohio — Tuesday’s coverage of fall camp features two defensive backs who had their 2010 season cut short because of injuries in sophomore Christian Bryant and sixth-year senior Tyler Moeller.
Moeller, if you remember, sat out the entire 2009 season after recovering from an assault and brain trauma suffered that summer. Then after finally returning in 2010, he had his season cut short after a torn pectoral muscle suffered at Illinois in the Big Ten opener required surgery. He was then granted a sixth year of eligibility from the NCAA last fall due to his misfortune. His presence this season is a welcome addition to a young Buckeye secondary and linebacker corps.
Bryant earned a spot in Coach Heacock’s nickel package as a true freshman last year before a foot issue sidelined him prior to the Purdue game. He played in a total of seven games last year, recording 10 tackles and one pass breakup.
