Tyndall Named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week After Three Event Wins

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference released its weekly men’s gymnastics awards on Monday. Senior Jesse Tyndall was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for the third time this season after leading Ohio State to a share of the Big Ten Championship for the first time since the conference began awarding a regular-season champion in 2019.

Tyndall had an OSU season-best 82.300 in the all-around competition, also winning three events and a runner-up finish in a fourth. His high bar routine (13.900) won the event and clinched the championship as he was the last gymnast to compete in the meet. The score is also the second highest among the Ohio State roster this season, second only to his nation-leading score earlier this year. Tyndall won the floor competition with a 14.250 and a stuck dismount to begin the meet and also won the parallel bars with a 14.450, the highest parallel score of any Buckeye this season. Tyndall ranks fifth in the country on floor (14.117), fifth on high bar (13.833) and ninth on rings (13.867) this season.

Tyndall is up to 11 wins this season and 10 additional top-three finishes this season as he’s also a finalist for the Nissen Emery Award.
