COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State field hockey team will make the trip to Ann Arbor this weekend for its second outing of spring hockey. The Buckeyes will play Kent State, Louisville, Michigan and Michigan State over two days.

The Buckeyes’ four opponents this weekend are all teams that they met in the 2018 season. Ohio State finished 3-1 against these opponents.

In the team’s first away contest of the season, the Buckeyes recorded their first win of the season in a 3-2 overtime victory at Louisville. Courtney Daniels and Sammy Stone both scored in the second half to tie the game, and Esther Clotet scored 1:29 into overtime to seal the Buckeye win.

Ohio State recorded its fifth shutout of the season in a 4-0 win over the Kent State Golden Flashes in the latter half of the season. Genevieve Penzone and Whitney Harris recorded their second and fourth goals of their respective careers in the game while freshmen Katie Pyle and Emma Goldean also notched a goal for the Buckeyes.

In a Senior Day showdown, the Buckeyes defeated Michigan State for the first time since 2015. Ohio State’s six-goal effort was led by two goals from Stone with Jessica Hourihane, Clotet, Kelsey Nolan, and Sina Schwinn all adding goals for the team.

The Buckeyes regular season finale against Michigan was taken into double overtime, where the team fought through almost 90 minutes of play but ultimately fell 2-1 to the Wolverines.
