COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State sophomores Mikael Torpegaard and Hugo Di Feo are both ranked in the top-10 of the latest ITA Rankings which were released on Tuesday. The Buckeyes start the spring ranked 10th as a team.

Torpegaard, who was ranked No. 32 at the start of the fall, is currently ranked a career-high No. 7 while Di Feo checks in at No. 10. Ohio State is the only program in the country with two players ranked in the top-10.

Senior Chris Diaz moved up from No. 29 in the fall to No. 19 in the latest poll while junior Herkko Pollanen is up to No. 25 from his starting spot of 93. In the doubles rankings, Ralf Steinbach and Martin Joyce are ranked No. 22 and Pollanen and Torpegaard come in at No. 24.

Both Torpegaard and Di Feo had stellar fall seasons. After dropping his first match of the season, Torpegaard won the consolation bracket at the ITA All-American Championship and finished the fall with a 6-2 record. Di Feo made his way through the qualifying draw at the All-American Championship and advanced to the quarterfinals before bowing out.

Pollanen made it four-straight years with a Buckeye singles champion at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships as he topped Diaz in the final. He won eight-straight matches during the fall and finished with a team-best 8-2 record in the fall. Diaz had a 7-4 mark in a team-high 11 matches this fall.

In doubles, Steinbach and Joyce knocked-off the top-ranked team of Austin Smith and Ben Wagland at the ITA All-American Championship before falling in the quarterfinals. They finished the fall with a record of 5-2. Torpegaard and Pollanen also advanced to the quarterfinals at the All-American Championships after navigating their way through qualifying.

The Buckeyes will open the season with a triple-header on Wednesday, Jan. 20. They will host Dayton at 10:30 a.m., Butler at 3:30 p.m. and Xavier at 6 p.m.
