On the fence about heading down to Texas to take in the clash between this year’s Big Ten and PAC-12 champs?
Here are five reasons you’ll want to get your seat in “Jerry Dome” for Buckeyes v. Trojans version XXIV:
Any Buckeye fan is sure to get chills when entering AT&T Stadium, immediately conjuring up memories and visions of the crowning moments of the 2014 National Championship run.
Although Los Angeles is more than 2,000 miles from the Columbus campus, Dec. 29 will mark the 24th meeting between USC and Ohio State in a series that dates all the way back to a regular season home and home in 1937 and ’38. Seven of those meetings have taken place in the Rose Bowl. The Buckeyes are looking to end a seven-game skid vs. the Trojans.
Fact: USC and Ohio State rank first and second in number of all-time NFL first round draft picks. A total of 80 Trojans have been selected in the opening round against 77 Buckeyes. Ohio State, which has had a combined eight first-rounders in the last two years, twice has tied the all-time NFL record with five opening round picks (2005 and 2015).
Since moving to AT&T Stadium in 2010, the Cotton Bowl has seen more than 550,000 fans enter through the turnstiles for the classic. As an added bonus, Buckeye fans can scout out a potential return trip to AT&T when Ohio State travels to face TCU Sept. 15 of next season.
The 2017 Ohio State seniors have racked up quite the resume of accomplishments in their time as Buckeyes:
60-6 overall record since 2013 40-3 in B1G games since 2013Three outright B1G Division championships (2013, ’14, ’17) Two B1GEast co-championships (2015 and 2016) 2014 and 2016 B1G Champions2014 National Champions
What better way to send these seniors off with a victory over Southern Cal and a hoisting of the Cotton Bowl Classic Trophy.
