Seat Selection Process

Public Seat Selection Process (Football & Men’s Basketball)

This is an exciting time to be a part of Ohio State Athletics. Utilizing technology that provides a fully-immersive 3D interactive seating diagram and real-time seat availability data, full season ticket holders for football and men’s basketball now have the opportunity to select their own seat locations online.

Details of the seat selection process including answers to many common questions can be found by referencing the links on this page and/or by reading the FAQs below. You can experience the Ohio State Football Virtual Venue™ or Ohio State Men’s Basketball Virtual Venue™ by clicking the links included on this page.

Seat selection windows begin after all season ticket orders have been processed, and are assigned based on the priority point system. Renewing public season ticket holders will be given the opportunity each season to move their seats to available open inventory if desired, but are not required to select new seats until the next full seat selection. Faculty/Staff full season ticket holders are required to select seats in designated faculty/staff sections each season.

Renewing season ticket holders will be able to upgrade/move their season ticket locations during early September. Seat selection windows will begin in early September after all orders have been processed and will be determined based on consecutive years of men’s basketball season ticket purchases. Faculty/Staff season ticket holders are required to select seats each season.

All season ticket holders will select seats in 2023. Seats selected prior to the 2023 season will be retained for 4 season, and will need to be selected every 4 seasons after that.

Football

The Ohio State Football Virtual Venue™ is a fully-immersive 3D interactive seating diagram of Ohio Stadium. Developed by IOMEDIA, this technology allows customers to virtually place themselves inside any section at Ohio Stadium and experience the view from that location.

Select the Guided Tour for a tutorial on how to navigate the Virtual Venue. During the seat selection process, additional functionality allows customers to see real-time seat availability during their seat selection window.

The seat selection process gives season ticket holders the opportunity to select their seating based on their overall giving to the University. This process aims to integrate athletics giving, university giving, and continuous years of season ticket purchases for an equitable priority order by which season tickets will be allocated. Each account holder will be assigned an appointment time (seat selection window) based upon season ticket holder qualification and priority point ranking as shown below.

Notes:
* Suites, Club seats and Loges are not subject to the seat selection process.
* Faculty/Staff full season ticket holders are required to select seats each season.

FAQs

Beginning with the 2022 season, the best way to improve your ranking within each giving level is to make your contribution to the Buckeye Club by March 1, 2022. Your priority points ranking within each giving level as of March 1, 2022 will determine the order in which you will choose your seats and parking lot along with your priority for away/post-season tickets.

If you are interested in increasing your support of Ohio State Athletics, or for more information on accruing and/or improving your giving level and priority points, please contact the Buckeye Club via email at buckeyeclub@osu.eduor by phone at (614) 292-9908.

The seat locations that were selected for the 2021 season are guaranteed through the 2024 season as long as qualifying memberships and tickets are paid annually by the published deadlines. If you would like to review available inventory and potentially select a different seat location/zone, you will have the opportunity to indicate that request during your online renewal, and participate in the voluntary seat selection each spring.  Faculty/staff members must select their seats each season.

New public season ticket holders will be assigned a seat location at the time of purchase, but will also have the option to review available inventory and potentially select a different seat location/zone during the seat selection process.

Season ticket holders will be sent seat selection window information via email. In order to make sure you receive all important renewal and seat selection information, please make sure your email address is kept up to date with the Athletics Ticket Office.  This information will include step-by-step instructions for using the online site to select seats.

Yes. Full season ticket holders who wish to have their public seats assigned next to other season tickets for which they qualify (i.e. Faculty/Staff, Varsity O Football) will be able to indicate that choice during the online season ticket renewal process and have two options:

  1. Select all seats together based on your public priority points, but only in the public season ticket sections.
  2. Select your public seats based on your public priority points (in the public season ticket sections) and other seats during the selection window for your other designated group (in those designated sections).

No. The Faculty/Staff and Varsity O Football sections are limited only to tickets qualified as a benefit of being a member of those designated groups. Selecting public seats and Faculty/Staff/Varsity O seats together may only be done in the public season ticket sections, based on your public priority points.

When your selection window opens, you will have the opportunity to pick these seats, depending on available inventory. Please keep in mind, there is a price difference for B-Box and D-Box seats.

No. Each club seat holder and loge box holder will retain their contracted seats long as you continue to fulfill the obligations in your contract.

The Ohio State Football Virtual Venue™ allows season ticket holders to choose seats during a specific window of time. Each full season ticket holder is assigned a scheduled window of time in which to log-in to their online ticket account and choose their seats. A 3D view of Ohio Stadium from the seats will be available to preview before choosing your seats. Appointment times (seat selection windows) will be assigned based on the priority point system. Ticket holders with the highest point totals will select first. Seat selection windows will be staggered, every 15 minutes.  You may select seats at any time after your window opens until the published ending date, but the group immediately following yours in priority order may begin selecting seats starting 15 minutes after your selection window begins.

Yes. A new Preview Mode of the Ohio State Football Virtual Venue™ is available by logging into your Ohio State Buckeyes Account once all the selection windows have been assigned. You will be able to see actual seating availability prior to your seat selection window opening.

The Virtual Venue software contains a built-in feature which does not allow for single seats to be left after a selection has been made. If you are having issues with selecting seats because of a single seat remaining, please contact the Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-GO-BUCKS (462-8257) for assistance.

Your assigned seat selection window reflects the earliest time you may log in to select seats. Those who miss their scheduled appointment time may log in to self-select seats at any time after their appointment time has started. Please keep in mind that if you miss your scheduled appointment time, other season ticket holders may be choosing seats at their assigned times which will affect seating availability.

With the online seat selection process, each individual will be given an appointment time for seating based on their respective priority point ranking. Group seating will be adjusted to allow for conference, state, and local officials to clarify physical distancing guidelines to provide the safest environment for fans while also maximizing allowable attendance.

Full season ticket holders will be asked about special seating needs during the season ticket renewal process. All individuals requesting disability seating also will be required to submit a Disability Needs Form indicating their particular need. Individuals requiring seating in wheelchair accessible rows or specific seating to meet other disability needs, AND who have submitted a Disability Needs Form, will be able to call 1-800-GO-BUCKS (462-8257) during their assigned seat selection window for assistance with selecting seats from available inventory that meet their specific needs. Once your Disability Needs Form has been received, your account will be properly noted to indicate that you qualify to select accessible seating.

NOTES:
All season ticket holders indicating the need for special seating as covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act MUST submit a signed Disability Needs Form to the Athletics Ticket Office as part of their football ticket renewal to ensure access to renew or select accessible seating during their seat selection window.
