Senior Men’s Competition Finals – 7:30 p.m. ET

COLUMBUS, Ohio— One former and two current members of the Ohio State men’s gymnastics team qualified for the 2011 Visa Championships finals Wednesday night at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minn. Former Buckeye and current U.S. national team member Brandon Wynn, senior Ty Echard and sophomore Jeff Treleaven will compete at 7:30 p.m. ET Friday in the finals for a chance to win a national title and a roster spot on the U.S. Men’s Senior National team.

Wynn, the defending national champion on rings, continued to excel above the field of 45 on the event, placing first with a 15.750 score. In the all-around competition, the native or Voorhees, N.J., Wynn notched an 86.100 mark for 10th overall, while also finishing tied for sixth on high bar with a 14.750.

A six-time All-American at Ohio State, Wynn will look to make his second-consecutive spot on the U.S. roster for the 2011 World Championships Oct. 8-16 in Tokyo, Japan.

Echard, a two-time All-American on pommel horse, posted the second-highest score in the qualifier with a solid 15.000. The native of Carroll, Ohio, Echard will look to make his first roster spot on the U.S. national team. He holds the Ohio State record on the event with a 15.700.

Treleaven, a 2011 All-American on vault, tallied a 15.900 on the event at the preliminaries for fifth overall, while posting a 14.350 on floor exercise to tie for 20th. The native of Glen Ellyn, Ill., Treleaven will also be looking to make his first U.S. national team.

Former Buckeyes Sean Regan and Tai Lee also represented Ohio State in the qualifier and will be competing in the afternoon session Friday.
